North Weald Redoubt Fort Trip

Earlier in the year I visited North Weald Redoubt with a couple of friends. Ramblings so Far & Chill Cleal

The redoubt was built at the end of the 19th Century to protect London in case of war. There are still two surviving (albeit rusty) Allan Williams Turrets which were used to defend a nearby radio station. The Redoubt went through many uses before it was abandoned, barracks, magazine and also storage for Marconi Radio.

Unfortunately the inside areas were completely flooded so we wasn’t able to explore beyond the external areas and building.

I got very few photos and even fewer that I was pleased with. The ones below are my pick of the bunch, which are fairly typical of my minimal / textured style.
